Jim Iyke Denies Having Issues With Nadia, Says They Are Still Together

Jim Iyke through his media manager, Mitch Ngaman, has claimed Jim Iyke and Nadia Buari are still lovers and urged fans to ignore music act and blogger Emma Agu’s claim that the lovers have separated.
Mitch said, it is normal for lovers to have a little misunderstanding, but nothing went out of hand in their own case. Here is part of the press statement released by him;
“I can assure you that whatever you may have heard regarding the ‘misunderstanding’ between Jim and Nadia is pure speculation. Nonetheless, it is normal for lovers to disagree with each other occasionally or they wouldn’t be human beings.
“We are aware of the false rumour about Jim and Nadia’s breakup. We have decided to ignore it because it is unfounded. Jim and Nadia have not broken up, as claimed by Emma.
“That guy is a frustrated musician and blogger whose stock – in – trade is blackmail. All he does is to meddle in other people’s business. And if he does not have his way, he goes into a tantrum and fabricates stories.

Wrong Timing: Tonto Dikeh Accused of Attacking Joseph Yobo’s Wife On Instagram

Nollywood Actress Tonto Dikeh has recently been accused of making snide comments on Instagram, which referred to Adaeze Yobo, wife of the Nigerian footballer Joseph Yobo.
Following the incident where Adaeze was recently harrassed on Instagram by a woman who claimed to be a Mistress to her husband. Adaeze being a woman who wouldn’t allow outsiders rubbish her marriage, calmly dealt with the issue, and told the woman off promptly.
According to reports, moments after Adaeze’s dismissal of the ‘Home-wrecker ,’ Tonto allegedly posted a picture on Instagram with the caption reading, ‘Some girls will die for the Aww cutest couple ever comments. Even if they are dying inside.’
Based on the timing, this post generated a lot of negative reactions from the public because they saw it as adding fuel to the already scandalous fire of the allegations stating that Joseph Yobo was cheating on his wife. Public speculation is of the opinion that Tonto Dikeh’s post spoke lowly of how Adaeze handled the incident.

Boko Haram Men Kill 34 In Fresh Attacks On 3 Villages In Borno State

According to Sahara Reporters, Boko Haram men, yesterday May 22nd, launched fresh attacks on 3 villages in Borno state killing 34 people. Kerenuwa village in Marte, Kimba in Biu and Kukumba in Chibok were all attacked.
These are the same communities that have been in the news since the abduction of over 200 girls in a secondary school in Chibok.

Nigerians Spend More On Recharge Cards Than On Food

           
In 2012/2013 fiscal year, an average Nigerian household spent more on recharge cards than they did on household supplies such as petrol, soap, washing powder and personal food, says the report from a survey carried out by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) in collaboration with the World Bank.
Nigerians collectively spent about N449.7bn/month on recharge cards, hence making recharge cards account for 72.3% of the expenses made by the sampled households monthly against the combined 37% that cover food, personal care, and household products including petrol. Not very surprising, I must say, because at the end of 2013, 120 million out of about 170 million of the Nigerian population owned mobile phones and well, SMS and phonecalls.
No one benefits from this turn of events more that the NIgerian telcos, and their investors. They’re definitely smiling to the bank.

President Jonathan Signs 2014 Budget

The 2014 budget has been signed into law by President Goodluck Jonathan. The president signed the budget into law this morning, May 23rd, after the statutory process of legislative scrutiny was completed.
Coordinating Minister for the Economy and Minister of Finance Dr Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, and the DG of the Budget Office are expected to address the press later today on the budget signing.

CHIBOK GIRLS: US Airforce Go Into Act

The United states who are currently on a mission to rescue the missing over 200 Chibok school girls kidnapped by the Boko Haram insurgents in Borno state on April 14 said that the 80 personnel deployed in Chad on the rescue mission are from the Air Force.

The President of the United states, Barack Obama in a letter on Wednesday said that the US personnel, who would help with intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance aircraft for missions over northern Nigeria, which shares a border with Chad are reported to have begun their mission using a drone and Global Hawks.
A spokesman at the U.S. military’s Africa command in Germany, Chuck Prichard, yesterday said that the 80 Air Force personnel were previously stationed in the United States, but he did not say precisely where in the U.S.
A senior U.S. official said the drone is a Predator and will be in addition to the unarmed Global Hawks already being used. The new flights will be based out of Chad and allow the military to expand its search to that country. Initially the flights were largely over Nigeria.
Lt. Col. Myles Caggins said Wednesday that newly deployed forces will help expand drone searches of the region. About 40 of the troops make up the launch and recovering teams for the drone being deployed there and the other 40 make up the security force for the team.
