Music Has No Language – Phyno Speaks

A rapper and producer, Phyno (Chibuzo
Nelson), on Friday, in Lagos said that language was not a barrier to the
appreciation of music as music had no language.
Phyno, who is renowned for doing his songs in
Igbo language, said that he was grateful to God that all his hard work
had eventually paid off. “At first I was bothered but if you knew things
about music you will understand that music has no language.
“One of the biggest songs between last
year/this year is `Khona’ and we in Nigeria, we don’t even know what
they are saying, so that’s how music is for you.
“You don’t need to understand what they say;
just go with the flow as long as they come clear when it comes to their
visuals so that’s why I take more time in my videos too.
“Being consistent is like one big challenge
that every artiste that is already out has to face unless you are not
out and you just have to fight for coming out or just to be relevant.
“But once you are out, the biggest challenge has to be consistency,’’ he
said.
Phyno disclosed that he was currently engaged
in a “collaboration album’’ with “Olamide’’(Adedeji), a renowned rap
artist who raps mostly in the Yoruba language, and described their union
as a “divine blessing.’’
Phyno is signed on to Sputnet Records and has hits like `Alobam’, ‘Obago’, ‘Man of the Year’ and the smash collaboration, ‘Ghostmode’, featuring Olamide. His full album titled, ‘No Guts No Glory’, was released earlier this year.

87-Year Old Woman With Tumour In The Eye Drags Bank To Court Over N253,000 Suspicious Withdrawal

An 87-year-old woman, Mrs. Sanusi Adebisi, has locked horns with the Union Bank Plc over the N253,000 withdrawn from her account in the bank via the Internet sometime in October 2013.
The claimant told the Magistrate’s Court
sitting at the Ojokoro, Agbado area of Lagos that she just got N200,000
of the sum from her cooperatives to operate the tumour in her eye.
She told the court that the tumour had worsened since the scam took place because no longer had money to get rid of it.
Adebisi, who sells drinks in Orile-Agege,
said she had been the sole signatory to her account since 1970s before
her only daughter, Sanusi Ifedayo, was included as a joint signatory due
to a health problem.
Ifedayo claimed she did not
know anything about Internet transaction and told the court that she had
rejected the use of an ATM card for the account, but an official of the
bank insisted that she applied for it, saying some amount could not be
cashed across the counter.
“I had withdrawn N40, 000 for Mama (mother)
that day before the scam. It was my husband who went to greet her that
very day that noticed the debit alerts on her phone.
I wrote a letter of complaint to the bank and
its officials promised to investigate the matter. After a week, I was
told that the money was withdrawn online by an unknown person.
I don’t even know how to operate a Facebook
account not to talk of using Internet for transaction. The bank is in
best position to tell us what transpired,” she said.
She also claimed that she had never revealed the ATM pin to anyone.
The claimant’s counsel, Mr. Gbenga Julius, presented
before the court, a signed and stamped printout of his client’s
statement of account reportedly accessed from the Union Bank – an
exhibit the defence counsel, Mr. Seyi Solaja, refuted.
Solaja maintained that the
exhibit was not the same as the one the bank issues to its customers,
adding that it was null and void under Section 84 of Evidence Act.
The magistrate, Mrs. T. Akani adjourned the case to July 27, 2014 for further hearing.

INCREDIBLE: Meet The Woman Who Is Half-Human, Half-Fox Creature At Karachi Zoo (See Photo)
One of the top attractions at Karachi
Zoo in Pakistan is ‘Mumtaz Begum Africa Wali’ – a mythical half-fox,
half-woman chimera. With the body of a fox and the head of a woman, this
bizarre creature manages to delight visitors more than any other animal
in the zoo. Her witty conversation and fortune-telling talents make her
an instant hit with any sort of crowd.

Once you enter Karachi Zoo, it’s hard to miss
Mumtaz Begum – the organizers announce their bizarre attraction on a
megaphone. When you get inside Mumtaz Mahal, the building that houses
her, all you can see at first is a fox’s hide placed on a table-like
arrangement. Suddenly, a woman’s head appears out of nowhere, exactly
where the fox’s head is supposed to be.
The woman wears heavy make up with bright
lipstick, and small children in the crowd are immediately captivated by
her presence. Then she begins her story: “I was born like this in Africa
35 years ago, and I live on cake, juice, and fruits…” After a short
monologue, she engages with visitors and answers their questions in
several languages.

Of course, Mumtaz isn’t really a mythical
creature – she’s just an optical illusion created by a man rearing his
head through a wooden table next to the body of a stuffed fox. Over the
years, the role of Mumtaz has been played by several men. A man is
always chosen for the part, according to zoo director Mohammad Fahim
Khan, because men are able to respond better to harassment and negative
comments. The selection is made according to acting talent and also the
number of local languages they can speak.

The current ‘actor’ playing Mumtaz
Begum is 33-year-old Murad Ali, who inherited the role from his father
16 years ago. Ever since, the father-of-two has been putting on his make
up and getting into character for up to 12 hours a day. It sure is a
strange thing to be doing for a living, but Ali seems to be really
enthusiastic about his job. “The people who visit here, go away happy.
And knowing that they feel happy makes me happy too,” he said. “There is
a bond of love between me and them. Life is very short; it should be
spent spreading smiles.”
Mumtaz Begum is so well known
locally that she has her own set of regular visitors. Students go to her
routinely with questions about the results of their examinations, and
concerned parents visit her to ask when their daughters will be married.
People ask her all kinds of questions about their destiny, and are
satisfied with her replies. Mohammad Osama, a sixth grade student, said:
“I feel very good. I had a nice talk with her. I am really happy. I’m
happy I came here.”
“Women and children are especially
keenly interested in this character,” said Fahim Khan. “They come here;
they watch her and talk to her. This is an art. He is like an actor who
plays this role and entertains the people.” But not everyone likes this
strange feature of the zoo; according to its founder, AA Quraishy,
Mumtaz’s performance “is despicable and ignoble.” I guess it’s not for
everyone.

Tech: How To Be Eligible For Airtel 4GB BIS Data Plan

I can really tell when I’m enjoying internet
surfing with the fastest internet speed; and I can tell when it’s slow. I
make up this post because of those that are in one way or the other
finding it difficult to subscribe for the Airtel 4GB.
Surprisingly, I noticed my Airtel Gigs is not
actually moving as in excessive zapping of data for the past few days
as it used to.

Maybe an adjustment have been made, but I
can’t really say. So many of us have wondered why on earth Airtel will
select those that are Eligible to Use the 4GB data plan.
Why Won’t Your SIM Be Eligible For The Plan?
Dial *440*161# should let you know if you are eligible or not. Unfortunately, many are not eligible.
Early hours of this morning, a committed blog
contributor in person of Mr Ben share with me this method of easily
getting eligible for the Airtel 4GB; after Airtel told him that he’s not
eligible for the plan. Two weeks later, he tried the code below and he
was told Eligible.
How Can I Be Eligible For The Airtel 4GB Plan?
It’s so simple; it’s all wrapped up in a code. Dial *440*440# Once
you dial the code above, if you are lucky enough, you will get an
eligible message. And if you didn’t get an eligible message, keep your
SIM for some couples of weeks and try it again.
Mind you, this Airtel 4GB for #1500 works on all device including Java phones.

‘I Infected 1,000 Men With HIV’ – Confessions Of A Prostitute (See Photo)

“I was very angry with every kind of man, anyone that called himself a man… It’s only that I could not manage to hunt and kill them but my desire was to use any weapon to kill men – because one of them killed me. Inside me, I said to myself, ‘I will never tell them my status. Whoever comes to me, I will finish him. The way they infected me, I must infect them also.’ I don’t know how many men I infected but they are thousands.”
This is the true-life, shocking story of
Francis, a prostitute who spent 18 of her 32 years on earth in the s*x
trade, sleeping with up to six men daily in the major cities of Tanzania
and Namibia. It chronicles her diabolical form of revenge after
discovering she was HIV/AIDS Positive in 2006 and her remarkable
turnaround at an unlikely destination in Lagos, Nigeria.

Growing up in a rural village in Tanzania,
the thrills of ‘city life’ grew increasingly more attractive for
Francis, a fourteen year old who hated school and was notoriously
rebellious. Striking a plan with friends, she abandoned school one
fateful day and set out for Dar Es Salaam, the Tanzanian capital,
leaving her home and family behind.
“When we reached the city, I found a lot of
girls who were older than me who were in this business of prostitution,”
Francis explained. “They introduced me how to behave in order to seduce
men and get clients.” Two years down the line aged 16, the young girl
was already pregnant for an unknown father. Attempts to abort the child
through native concoctions all failed and she resolved to return home to
have her child.
However, the desire to prostitute continued
even after giving birth. “I was even prostituting when I was
breastfeeding and eventually, my mum took the child away from me.”
Francis immediately returned to the city, linking back up with her
group. Four years later, Francis’ mum sent a message to her that a
family relative was willing to take her to Namibia to save the family
from shame and get her out of the ‘mess’. She eventually agreed.
“When I reached Namibia, I felt I was
imprisoned. I couldn’t go to clubs, smoke, drink or meet men – which is
what I wanted to do.” Fighting her aunt daily, she eventually threw
Francis out of her home. “It was celebration for me that I can go back
to the same lifestyle. I already made a group of friends that were
prostituting… They introduced me to the area where I could hunt for men
and sleep with them.”
Living a lavish and promiscuous life on the
streets of Windhoek, Namibia, Francis had lost all touch with her
family. ‘Business’ was booming due to the influx of foreign workers in
the city who would regularly patronise her and also introduced her to
hard drugs. However, the consequences of her actions were about to catch
up on her.
“In 2006, I discovered that I was pregnant
again. I didn’t know the father because I was sleeping with five or six
men a day – I just wanted money to enjoy,” she recounted. Encouraged by a
fellow prostitute not to abort, Francis visited a hospital when the
pregnancy reached six months where they conducted several tests. “That
is when I discovered I was HIV/AIDs positive.” Shock. Bitterness. Rage.
Emotions ran wild within the heart of the young s*x-worker. “There was
this voice that said – ‘Now, it’s better you die!’ ”
Knowing that death was close, the embittered
prostitute resolved to take as many men as possible along with her. “I
cannot count how many men I have infected. If any man told me we should
use a c****m, I would tell him, ‘Look at how I look? I cannot have such a
disease.’ So, the man would end up trusting me. They are thousands.”
Francis expanded her ‘business’ horizons via
the internet, particularly using the dating social network ‘Eskimi’. It
was in 2013 that she encountered a Nigerian man while looking for a more
‘serious’ relationship. “The man became attracted to me and asked for
my contact details. He told me he wanted to come to Namibia and visit
me.” When the Nigerian arrived, the couple forged a relationship,
culminating in Francis falling pregnant. She did not divulge her health
status.
After giving birth, Francis had a bout of
guilt and visited a pastor at Christ Embassy Church to confess her sins.
“After confessing to the pastor, who is also a Nigerian, he met the
father of my child and asked if he really knew me. He told him, ‘This
girl confessed to me that she is HIV/AIDS Positive.’ ” Francis’ Nigerian
lover fainted upon hearing the news and was rushed to hospital.
After recovering, he ‘ran away’ from her,
moving to Angola. However, their young baby was nearing the age of nine
months. Francis was desperate. Her finances were stagnant and she was
tired of prostitution. After pleading with the Nigerian, a settlement
was eventually reached. “He said the only thing he would do for me was
to give me money to go to Nigeria and drop the child with his parents.”
Some weeks earlier, a friend had introduced
Francis to a Christian television station which was gaining increasing
popularity in Namibia. It was Emmanuel TV, the station of Nigerian
Pastor T.B. Joshua. Seizing the opportunity to visit Nigeria, Francis
decided to visit the famous church in Lagos after she had dropped off
her son. “When I arrived in Lagos, they put me in a car and took me
straight to a state called Enugu. I only stayed one week there. Then I
had to search for The Synagogue.”
On Sunday 27th April 2014, Miss Francis sat
gingerly in the huge auditorium of The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations
(SCOAN) in Lagos. It was the time of prayer from the ‘wise men’ and she
was nervous. “Before the wise man came close, I felt like electricity
dividing my body and I started shivering. I don’t know what happened
when he prayed for me.” Francis received ‘deliverance’ from the ‘demon’
that pushed her to a life of prostitution.
The following week, Sunday 4th May 2014,
Francis publicly gave her confession in the crowded church. “I am here
to kneel down and ask the whole world, every man I encountered, to
forgive me,” she tearfully said, explaining that after her ‘deliverance’
she began regretting her actions for the first time. She went further
to send a poignant message to her fellow s*x-workers. “There is no
benefit in prostitution. The end of prostitution is bitterness and
sorrow. I advise youth – if you are in the same situation I was in, let
me be an example in your eyes. Drop that lifestyle immediately and seek
the face of God.”
Francis stayed another week in the Nigerian
church after which T.B. Joshua gave her the sum of $1,500 to restart her
life in Namibia. “I will never return to prostitution. I am so grateful
to God,” she concluded.

Police Finds 1,555 Child P*rnography Images In Catholic Priest’s College Room

A Catholic priest, Father Stanislaus Hogan, 63, who had 1555 child P*********y images, (from 3 months to 16 years old pictures of children) in his bedroom at St Ignatius College in Adelaide where he worked has been charged to court after police found those images in his locked room at the college.
His main interest was in images of boys in
the low-to-mid teens, the very age range of children at the school where
he was employed.
But his lawyer wants the court to forgive him
after pleading guilty, stating that he has done a lot of good in his
life and he has also made clear his intention to apply to be released
from his vows on August 14.
She pleaded with the court not to send her
client to jail, but the judge said such a sentence would be ‘manifestly
inadequate’. Hogan, whose bail was continued, will be sentenced on a
later date.
Meanwhile, a psychologist said Hogan had
previously suffered with alcohol problems and depression, which were
directly related to his struggle to reconcile his sexuality with his
ethical and religious beliefs

Outgone Super Eagles’ boss, Stephen Keshi, has been offered N168 million for a new two-year deal to remain at his post.

The contract ups to N7 million Keshi’s monthly salary.
He was being paid, until the ouster of the
Super Eagles from the World Cup and an end to his contract, a monthly
salary of N5 million.
The loss in the Round of 16 match to the Les Blues of France marked the end of the contract.
The Eagle Online reliably gathered that the
plan to offer Keshi an improved deal came amid confusion over the status
of his employment with the Nigeria Football Federation.
The Big Boss, who is yet to append his
signature to the new deal, was said to have complained about the clauses
contained in the new contract papers.
It was also learnt that the Nigeria Football
Federation has put in place plans to hire a foreign coach to be assisted
by a local coach should Keshi reject the new offer.
On the contrary, the AFCON 2013 winning coach
told The Eagle Online that he would insist that the football house
provides him with an official accommodation and a car to function.
Keshi told The Eagle Online: “My contract effectively ended with the Super Eagles ouster from the World Cup.
“So, there is no reason resigning from the job.
“However, we are yet to agree a new contract.
“So I remain a free agent until otherwise.”
